Reporting to the Director TCSI and HEIMs IT section, the Production Support Team Lead is responsible for providing direction and expertise in a range of activities and outputs related to the enhancement of operations for key Higher Education ICT information management systems.
The position holder will lead a team of developers and technical analysts providing guidance to solve core system functional issues and plan system enhancement work.
An understanding of the Higher Education business domain and expertise in the underlying system components and data structures will be required to be effective in this role.
The key duties of the position include:Responsibilities of the EL1 Production Support Team Lead may include:
Leading production support for Higher Education IT systems, aligning with business needs and priorities.Working with business and technical stakeholders to investigate and resolve data or system issues.Remediating student loans and providing fortnightly reports to senior executives.Mentoring junior staff and providing guidance to resolve complex technical problems.Managing administration and technical work for contractors and APS staff.Performing a range of administrative tasks as required, including recruitment and other enterprise initiatives.Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.
This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 18 months.
