About the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (the NDIS Commission) is an independent agency established on 1 July 2018 to improve the quality and safety of NDIS supports and services.
The NDIS Commission's core legislative functions are to:
Uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of, people with disability receiving supports or services.
Develop a nationally consistent approach to managing quality and safeguards for people with disability.
Promote the provision of advice, information, education and training to NDIS providers and people with disability.
Secure compliance with relevant legislation through effective compliance and enforcement arrangements.
Promote continuous improvement amongst NDIS providers.
Develop and oversee the broad policy design for a nationally consistent framework relating to the screening of workers.
Engage in, promote and coordinate the sharing of information to achieve the objects of the relevant legislation.
Provide NDIS market oversight.

About this opportunity
The Regulatory Operations Division oversees regulatory and compliance operations, including incident response, compliance monitoring and investigations. It is responsible for the approval of providers, suitability assessments, and manages the national Worker Screening database.
Operational Assessment
Operational Assessment supports the Commission's Regulatory Approach by undertaking reviews of identified matters across all operational areas.
Key duties of the role
The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director – Operational Assessment, and will:
Lead and coordinate compliance monitoring and investigative activities.
Liaise with internal stakeholders and external government agencies.
Conduct quality assessments on identified cases and make recommendations.
Prepare senior executive briefs and reports on activities.
Engage across the full range of Commission functions.
Manage a small team, providing direction and performance management.

Essential and desirable requirements
Demonstrated executive-level experience in a compliance or investigations role is highly desirable.
A tertiary level qualification in Investigations, Regulatory Compliance, or Risk Management is desirable.
Experience in using information and evidence gathering powers is desirable.
Knowledge of the NDIS and the role of the NDIS Commission is desirable.
Knowledge of the issues facing people with disability is desirable.
