ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TRUSTSThe Arc of Northern VirginiaFull-time PositionHours: 37.5 hrs/weekSchedule: In office with the possibility of occasional remote workSupervisor: Ana HughesSalary: Starting at $65,000Job Overview: The Assistant Director of Trusts is responsible for ongoing administrative support to the Director of Trusts, database administration, new client management, ongoing client relations, and customer service.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Assistant provides follow-up to individuals/families, the Trustee, agencies, and attorneys to ensure a smooth process.
In addition, delivery of Trust documents in accordance with policies and regulations to the Trustee.
The Assistant develops community partnerships, connecting individuals with disabilities to community resources, and effectively interacting with the disability population as well as community leaders.Responsibilities and Duties:Direct trust accounts with departmental policy and procedures and state lawsPrepare trust documents per regulations for new trust clientsGuide clients and professionals (agency staff and attorneys) through completing and signing trust documents during the trust establishment processProcess new trusts to completion and follow up with clients in a timely manner if neededResponsible for daily administration of client trust accountsReview and update trust documents as neededMaintain internal trust database containing trust details and client contact informationConduct monthly oversight of trust activity to verify data between Trustee and internal databaseAct as a client relationship manager and liaison between clients and TrusteeFunction as an educated resource for potential, new, and established clients and professionalsLiaise trust clients with Trustee investment officersTroubleshoot with Director of Trust when more complex questions ariseAdditional Responsibilities:Attend advocacy, community, and education events to raise awareness of the Special Needs Trust program and servicesParticipate in weekly Trust Team meetings and monthly Arc meetingsMaintain a neat, well-organized workspaceOther tasks and duties as assignedQualifications:Proficient in MS Office SuiteSkilled in Database ManagementEffective communicator with documented presentation skills and demonstrated strong writing abilityStrong ability to work independently and take initiativeSolid understanding of trust administrationAbility to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentAbility to manage a small team and lead team meetings as needed5+ years professional work experiencePreferred Qualifications:Meaningful professional and personal experience with people with disabilitiesStrong understanding of public benefits and resourcesExperience within a CRM, specifically SalesforceSpecial Requirements:The candidate selected for this position will be required to complete a Child Protective Services Registry and a Criminal Background check to the satisfaction of The Arc of Northern Virginia.
