Assistant Director of Landscape Architecture
to join our GHD Design team. The Assistant Director of Landscape Architecture is a dual-role position that encompasses leading Landscape Architect projects' creative and technical aspects while providing support functions to the Director. This role requires a balance of design leadership, project management, and administrative proficiency to ensure the efficient operation of the Landscape Architecture team and the successful delivery of high-quality design solutions.
GHD Design is a global design company operating through the GHD network of studios and offices with a 30+ year presence in WA. In WA, our team includes the following disciplines: Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, and Urban Design, delivering projects across 10 different market sectors.
Our local Landscape Architecture team has a focus on delivering innovative landscape designs which are site sensitive, site-specific and create a sense of place which is in line with the client and community's needs. The GHD landscape architecture team are focused on a strong portfolio of major transport infrastructure, townsite revitalization, large scale public realm and public open space projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Collaborating with our architecture, engineering, environment, and planning teams to create efficient and cost-effective landscape solutions for a wide range of projects to suit the client's brief.
Independent delivery of concept and technical design packages with accountability and ownership of all landscape designs across varied projects.
Assisting with day-to-day commercial management of landscape design commissions to time and budget targets.
Supervision, knowledge sharing, and mentoring of less experienced members with the ability to delegate tasks and grow the team.
Perform all phases of the design process including concept, design development, documentation, specification and report writing.
Interpretation and application of relevant client, industry, and GHD standards and codes and best professional practices.
What you will bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or equivalent.
AILA registered is highly desirable.
A solid understanding of Western Australian environmental conditions and appropriate plant knowledge.
Proficient skills in Adobe Creative Suite and relevant CAD based programs; GHD is a Revit preferred office, however a desire to learn this program is also desired.
Proven project delivery and project management skills – time, cost, resource management.
A keen attitude, be self-motivated and enthusiastic, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary team.
Aptitude to lead and provide landscape architectural inputs on large, multi-staged and multidisciplinary projects.
Experience writing proposals and contributing to submissions.
Strong interpersonal skills to build solid working relationships internally and with key stakeholders and clients.
