The division supports our ministers and the department to engage with the complex cross-cutting policy challenges in Australian climate, energy, environment and water policy. We lead on the Cabinet and Budget processes, strategic policy, First Nations policy, whole-of-portfolio projects, and work to build the department's policy capability. The Ministerial Liaison and Governance Branch is responsible for managing the workflow between the department and the responsible portfolio Ministers, as well as providing them with practical support arrangements. A key deliverable is to establish and maintain strong relationships between Ministers and their offices, the senior executive and the broader department. Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Section plays a critical role in supporting parliamentary activities for departments and portfolio Ministers' offices. Our responsibilities include: Processing and handling ministerial and parliamentary documents Coordination of departmental appearances at Senate Estimates and committee hearings Accounts payable services for ministerial offices Supporting ministerial, cabinet, parliamentary and senior executive governance and processes. Management of the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS). The Job Cabinet and Ministerial Support (Ongoing) This role is responsible for overseeing the management of cabinet processes, ministerial support, and the administration of PDMS. Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to:Management of staff responsible for cabinet activity, including lodgement of the department's submissions and management of incoming cabinet items from other departments via Cabinet+. Managing the distribution of submissions within the department, including the coordination of departmental comments. Coordinating briefing and meeting packs for the Secretary on items to be considered at meetings of Cabinet and Cabinet Committees. Manage the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS) and Cab Net+ whole of government workflow systems including the provision of technical support, training, administration and reporting. Ministerial office support including the management of ministerial accounts and invoices, on and offboarding of ministerial staff and DLOs, and other administrative support. Manage the team's work on a rostered basis during peak periods, such as in the lead up to Budget and MYEFO, including being on-call after business hours and on weekends (overtime allowance applies). Parliamentary Services (Non-Ongoing) This role is responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of key parliamentary functions including Senate Estimates, Tabling, Parliamentary Committee Inquiries, Parliamentary Questions on Notice and Question Time Briefs. Key duties of this position include, but are not limited to:Management of staff responsible for delivering high quality coordination, administration and support services to the ministerial offices, Executive and the department. Oversight and management of the portfolio's Senate Estimates process including the coordination of briefing material and responses to Senate Estimates Questions on Notice using the department's Parliamentary Document Management System. Lead the coordination and quality assurance of Parliamentary material including, Question Time Briefs, Parliamentary Committee Inquiries material and Parliamentary Questions on Notice Liaising with and responding to enquiries from a range of internal and external clients, including Parliamentary Committee Secretariats on Committee matters, the Ministers' office, the Executive and department. Security Clearance - This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
