Are you a high performing, motivated and experienced learning and health promotions program improvement professional with program and training design experience?The Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHW) Branch has been recently established in the People Services and Wellbeing Division, Defence People Group. The Branch develops strategy, policies, programs and products that contribute to improving the wellbeing of our Defence workforce. The Branch is also responsible for the assurance and continuous improvement of mental health initiatives across the Defence Enterprise, and providing evidence based research and advice.The Programs and Implementation Directorate within the Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch is responsible for the design, development, implementation, governance and promotion of mental health programs and packages that enable our workforce to learn more about mental health, strengthen resilience and wellbeing.As Assistant Director Mental Health Programs - Program Improvement, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of mental health and wellbeing training materials, initiatives and activities by:Managing and leading a team, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people;Providing leadership and strategic direction to support the review, design, development, governance and promotion of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing programs and activities to the Defence workforce;Applying expert advice for mental health and wellbeing campaigns and activities to influence decision making;Preparing and drafting high quality, accurate and timely documents and reports for parliamentary submissions and briefs;Building and sustaining effective relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to manage the governance of evidence-based mental health and wellbeing programs and activities;Reviewing and implementing program evaluation and data to update programs and initiatives to support quality assurance, risk management and continuous improvement;Understanding enterprise strategic objectives, sector evidence and translating these into tangible and feasible contemporary initiatives.About our TeamThe Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch comprises military members and civilian employees. We are growing into an inter-disciplinary team focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of the Defence community. The Programs and Implementation directorate provides leadership and expert advice through consultation and collaboration with Defence Groups and Services, to adopt and monitor MH&W activities.
