Full time The Property Management and Facilities team is responsible for maintaining all AEC offices nationally, including the provision of facility management services and associated infrastructure.
This includes new and existing leasing arrangements, maintaining the AEC property portfolio infrastructure and working with our 3rd party property providers.
Ensuring compliance with property related Commonwealth property policy requirements including implementing environmental and sustainable practices.
The AEC's Property portfolio contains a large and diverse footprint to support a nationally dispersed network and agile workforce, which expands and contracts to meet our operational needs on both long and short-term basis.
The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced property services leader who will support the day-to-day management and overall delivery of leasing activities.
We are looking for a leader with skills and experience in the Property function including strategy & reporting, facilities management, and capital works.
This role involves leading the AEC's Leasing team, including providing specialist advice, defining and analysing business needs for future leasing opportunities.
The Assistant Director works directly to the Director Property Management and Facilities and has supervisory responsibility for up to two APS 6 team members, while working closely with the Property Planning and Capital Works Section and across the organisation more broadly.
To excel you'll have: Experience in leading & managing a team to ensure high quality outputs, including building team capability to maintain a high level of expertise and encouraging career development.Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategies, governance and budgets.Ability to develop and support key internal and external relationships, including working with stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation in addition to representing and explaining agency views in various forums.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, with experience in consulting, providing specialist advice and recommendations to management, senior executives, and other stakeholders.Ability to contribute to agency doctrine, election preparation and delivery activities in accordance with the election readiness framework, according to individual accountabilities and responsibilities.Understanding of Commonwealth Government property and procurement legislation and other relevant legislation, policies and guidelines.Knowledge and experience in successfully setting priorities and delivering quality results on time and on budget.Experience in project management within a property environment.AEC employees must be Australian citizens.Any person who is, and seen to be active in political affairs, and intends to publicly carry on this activity, may compromise the strict neutrality of the AEC and cannot be considered.Applicants are required to consent to, undergo, obtain and maintain a character clearance.Applicants are required to consent to, undergo, obtain and maintain the security clearance required for this role.The AEC is responsible for conducting federal elections and referendums and maintaining the Commonwealth electoral roll.
