Position OverviewThe Assistant Director, IT Communication is responsible for managing the delivery of communication services for the Information Management and Technology (IMT) Branch. This includes shaping our branch image and promoting our vision, services, and products to support positive outcomes for the department.
The Assistant Director develops and executes communication strategies to support ICT initiatives and change agendas in line with strategic objectives. The role provides advice and support across the branch, driving integrated and coordinated communication and engagement with our stakeholders and the Executive. The Assistant Director builds effective stakeholder relationships and drives strong customer experience through positive interactions across our touchpoints.
The key duties of the position include:Manage the delivery of communication services for the branch, supporting a positive customer experience and achieving quality outcomes.Develop, implement, and evaluate internal and customer-facing communication strategies and products in line with strategic objectives and Australian Government communication standards and protocols.Create and deliver user-friendly customer-focused content and translate technical and complex language into plain English.Provide specialist communication advice and support, driving coordinated and integrated communication across different channels and audiences, ensuring consistent and cohesive messaging.Facilitate workshops and oversee communication processes and tools to ensure communication activities are effectively planned and delivered.Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and the Executive.Manage team priorities, work allocation, and planning to ensure quality and consistent communication services and deliverables.Supervise staff, fulfilling related HR, financial, and reporting obligations.Please review the job pack for the full position description.
