About our team   Immigration | GM Immigration Compliance Intelligence | Immigration Compliance Intelligence | Various Immigration Compliance Intelligence Branch  The Department of Home Affairs Immigration Group is an exciting and interesting place to work. Immigration Compliance Intelligence Branch, within Immigration Group, provides intelligence and collection services that support the delivery of Australia's immigration, citizenship, and border programs. Our Branch has five teams:  The Border Watch program collects, triages, assesses and refers border related allegations to risk owners across the Department and ABF
The Character Intelligence section conducts intelligence analysis focused on people who present a threat to Australia's migration system
The Compliance, Liaison and Engagement section works with partners to manage complex and sensitive cases on migration, traveller and customs matters
Immigration Compliance and Enforcement Intelligence section delivers, integrated, direct intelligence support to the ABF and the Australian Taxation Office
Operation AEGIS Intelligence supports joint ABF and Australian Federal Police operations in response to the recent High Court judgement on immigration detention.

The key duties of the position include: Duties and responsibilities     Manage or coordinate the allocation and prioritisation of intelligence capability in keeping with intelligence production requirements and resource capacities.
Oversee the development of highly complex or sensitive intelligence products that support valid and reliable assessments of a wide range of threats to Australia's migration system.
Engage with senior level stakeholders across national and international intelligence and law enforcement agencies to foster greater collaboration, leverage partner capabilities, and ensure flow of mission critical information.
Manage intelligence collection activities to ensure compliance with legislated and jurisdictional laws, policies, guidelines and standards.
Provide high level analytical advice and support to operational teams or partner agencies regarding complex investigation/intelligence scenarios.
Additional information   Mandatory Requirements Intelligence Analysts require a minimum of a Baseline (Protected) security clearance. They need to gain a Negative Vetting 1 clearance soon after upon assumption of duties and many will require higher clearances dependent upon their actual position, up to and including Positive Vetting.

Privacy Act 1988

Intelligence systems and their functions
Intelligence tradecraft
Advanced knowledge of information technologies, data interrogation, research capabilities and threat assessment methodologies
Advanced understanding of the intelligence cycle and the National Intelligence Community, including the mandate and responsibilities of other intelligence agencies.

To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.  The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (AGSVA) security clearance and an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
Notes The Department of Home Affairs offers an attractive remuneration package, including salary, superannuation benefits and flexible working conditions appropriate to the level of the position.  The Department may provide relocation assistance to eligible APS employees required to relocate. The level of assistance will vary depending on the reason for relocating and your personal circumstances.
