An exciting opportunity is available to join the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) as the Assistant Director, Innovation and Research.
POSITION DESCRIPTION The Assistant Director, Innovation and Research is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of policy, research and strategic advisers to deliver on complex work items within the ANZPAA Business Plan. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing strategic advice to the ANZPAA leadership team to ensure the delivery of high-quality work to the ANZPAA Board and Australia New Zealand Council for the Police Profession (ANZCoPP/the Council). This role is further responsible for leading the development and delivery of ANZPAA's strategic foresight and futures work programs, including the development of futures thinking capability, supporting policing across Australia and New Zealand.
The Assistant Director will lead the Innovation and Research Team which is responsible for examining complex challenges, as well as proactively identifying emerging issues impacting strategic and operational environments for policing. The team applies various research methodologies, data analysis, and scenario planning with an aim to reduce uncertainty and identify areas of strategic reform that will support policing across Australia and New Zealand.
The Assistant Director, Innovation and Research will have proven communication, problem solving and critical thinking capability. They will also have well-developed facilitation and presentation skills. They will have excellent written and verbal communication and the capacity to build trusting relationships with stakeholders and team members alike. Successful applicants will demonstrate:
