The Role
The position will manage the governance, risk management, and inter-department liaison for the Joint Strike Fighter Industry Support Program (JSF-ISP) grant opportunities, with oversight of new grants and progress of existing grantees, in consultation with the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR).
Under the delegation provided by the Director Industry, the position authorises administrative variations and governance reporting on JSF-ISP grant opportunities.
The position will also be accountable to plan, lead and manage a range of resources and exercise the associated people responsibilities to achieve business outcomes across the broader Industry Directorate's activities – working closely with the Director and Deputy Director Industry in managing direct and indirect resources available to the Directorate.
They will be responsible for achieving outcomes, progressing work, reviewing individual team and business performance, and focusing on identifying opportunities for continuous improvement – working with independence, setting work tasks that align with the strategic objectives, and communicating expected outcomes.

About our Team
The Aerospace Combat Systems (ACS) Industry Directorate's role is to support the ACS Branch identify, position and facilitate suitable Australian companies who can support the RAAF achieve their desired outcomes and realise the Government's desire to build a resilient supply chain in Australia through Defence projects.
We are responsible for delivering: Industry Support Programs; Industrial Participation Plans; Directed Sources of Repair for Asia Pacific Region Maintenance Repair Overhaul & Upgrade; JSF Taxes, Tariffs and Duties Framework; Strategic risk management; Event coordination; Ministerial and departmental reporting; Strategic relationships.

Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

A strong level of understanding of Australian Government legislation and delegations under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
This extends to policies, processes, and procedures within the Defence environment in relation to seeking delegate approval through the development and management of grant programs, in consultation with DISR, who provide program management administration.
Extensive experience in internal/external reporting, product development, and liaison with stakeholders, through governance and other stakeholder forums, committees, workshop development and/or working groups is required.
Extensive stakeholder engagement experience and will be required to identify relevant internal and external stakeholders' expectations and concerns – effectively managing the relationship to achieve desired outcomes.
There will be liaison with Australian Defence industry up to CEO/Managing Director level, with support and advice provided to inform contributions to Industrial Participation Programs, in consultation with US Government and Prime Contractors.
Accountability under broad direction to undertake complex to very complex written and analytical activities relating to capability development.
They will work within a framework of legislation, Defence strategic policy, established principles, work practices, and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.
Experience and comprehensive knowledge of the capability development and government approval processes and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedure relevant to their work.
Representational duties and advocate and negotiate on behalf of the organisations.
Accountable toward ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance of 'Negative Vetting 1'.
