The Western Australia Police Force seeks a highly motivated individual to lead a multi-disciplinary team as the Assistant Director for Financial Planning & Evaluation within the Finance Directorate.

THE ROLE The Assistant Director of the Financial Planning & Evaluation Unit plays a key role in supporting the Director with the effective and efficient deployment and management of the financial resources for the WA Police Force, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and public sector corporate governance standards. The role oversees the budget process and performance reporting for the agency. The position leads the ongoing development of the Government Budget framework and the agency's internal budget management framework.
This position provides high-level, timely advice on the financial impact of policy decisions under consideration by WA Police Force executives. Additionally, it offers guidance and leadership in developing and managing financial strategies, policies and procedures to optimise the resources needed to meet the agency's strategic goals. The role includes overseeing capital investment plans, forward estimates, governance, and mitigating financial risks, ensuring the long-term financial health of the agency.
The Assistant Director leads a multidisciplinary team, fostering innovation and professional growth, while managing performance and guiding the activities of both the Financial Strategy & Planning Unit and Financial Business Services.
