The Role:

The Assistant Director Training program prepares candidates for leadership in childcare services through a 30-week on-floor role with weekly allocated training hours.
This paid, blended program includes online assessments, workshops, regular assessor evaluations, and training at the Head Office to master key leadership competencies.
Upon successful completion, the role transitions to Assistant Director, with off-floor hours allocated based on centre needs and occupancy.
Role responsibilities:
Gain knowledge of childcare regulations, ensure adherence to health and safety standards, and conduct audits to maintain compliance.
Support staff training, foster a collaborative culture, and develop leadership skills through mentorship.
Plan and deliver educational programs, align curriculum with objectives, and leverage resources for individual child development.
Maintain accurate records, uphold confidentiality, and handle communications promptly and professionally.
Build strong relationships with parents, address concerns, promote community involvement, and support new family orientations.
Assist in budgeting, manage resources efficiently, and ensure smooth operations by adhering to budgets and addressing maintenance needs.
Develop emergency response skills, prioritize safety during crises, and communicate feedback or concerns effectively.
Role skills/competencies:
Current 'Police Check' less than 6 months old (for new employees or for new software access) · Current 'Drivers' License'
Proficiency in written and verbal communication
Knowledge and understanding of National Law, National Regulations, National Quality Standards, Early Years Learning Framework (Standard and Victorian)
Role qualifications:
Minimum of 'Diploma of Children's Services' qualification ·
Current 'First Aid' qualification including Anaphylaxis and Asthma
Child Safe' accredited training (Completed) ·
Food Safety Supervisor' qualification (updated every 5 years)
