The Department of the House of Representatives is seeking applications from those interested in directly supporting the work of the House of Representatives and members of Parliament at Parliament House in Canberra.
About the role The Assistant Director will be focused on transforming how we provide services to the department through the implementation of innovative, digital, streamlined solutions, using systems, tools and technology.
The role works collaboratively with the Chief Finance Officer to deliver an efficient and effective finance and procurement function.
The Assistant Director applies effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills and a well-developed understanding of how quality financial information, and finance and procurement processes and policies, contribute to organisational performance.
Under broad direction, the Assistant Director will undertake complex finance-related activities and tasks.
Work collaboratively within a small team, leading junior members and being responsible for providing operational support, detailed technical, professional, and policy advice in relation to complex problems and will lead in policy development to achieve the objectives of the department.
The Assistant Director applies a detailed understanding of legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks, demonstrates excellent communication skills, and values and nurtures a culture of innovation and service delivery.
