Cromer (Upper Northern Beaches) We are seeking an assistant director for an EXCEEDING 60 place centre located in the Upper Northern Beaches area of Cromer which caters for children from the ages of 0 - 6 years old.
Utilising a proven 'Play' based curriculum that focuses on creativity and nature, we are separated into three defined learning spaces.
With the children transitioning through each age-appropriate space, the journey culminates in a school readiness program that prepares the children for the next stage of their education.
Our educators build relationships with each child, creating continuity and trust as they move from class to class and progress on their journey.
Our service was assessed in 2024 under the National Quality Framework as "Exceeding the National Quality Standard".
We maintain this "Exceeding" rating through reflection on our daily practice and continual improvement planning The outdoor space is richly resourced with open-ended and natural materials where children are encouraged to experience all of the elements and broad learning opportunities that the outdoors provide.
We regularly venture outside of the service on bush walks, and to engage with the local community.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: Working in the Preschool room as a responsible person / room leader (2IC) to the director in accordance with the requirements of Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard for Early Education and Care.
Duties also include: To ensure children's wellbeing, learning needs and interests are addressed through a high quality education Meet and Greet families, children and visitors at the service Rostering, administration and enrolments Manage incoming/outgoing phone enquiries Assist the service manager with conducting tours Assist the service manager with interviews, phone screening, references and finalising new starters Manage family accounts Compliance documents within the service Assist on the floor when required Build trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders Essential: A Bachelor in Early Childhood Education; (NEW Grads ECT or WT ECT accepted) Current Child Protection, First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Minimum 2 years experience in a leadership role in a childcare centre As a 2IC the ability to plan, implement and evaluate early childhood programs as required by the EYLF; Sound understanding of National Education and Care Services Regulation; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Working with Children Check number Staff Benefits Ongoing professional training and development; Good working conditions and environment; Work full time shift pattern between 7am - 6pm Paying $75,000 - $95,000 plus super based on qualifications and experience.
