If you're passionate about HR and ready to make a difference in the way in which services are delivered to our staff, this could be the perfect fit for you!Key Duties:Lead HR Operations Team: Oversee payroll, recruitment administration, systems, reporting, and analysis. Foster a positive team culture and individual engagement.Strategic Oversight: Manage and implement Agency HR information systems, ensuring effective delivery and compliance.Change Management: Lead teams through strategic initiatives, including change and transformation, and develop strategies for business improvement.Service Level Agreements: Manage HR elements of SLAs and provide authoritative advice to participating organisations.Business Improvement: Conduct research, analysis, stakeholder consultation, and user testing to implement Agency-wide business improvement initiatives.HR Reporting: Develop and maintain strategic HR reporting capabilities, monitor trends, and communicate key metrics.Data Preparation: Prepare data and reports for Agency Executive, Budget Estimates Briefings, Question Time Briefs, Annual Reports, and other HR data-related responses.Specialist Advice: Provide high-level advice on legislation, award/agreement interpretation, and Agency HR policies to ensure compliance and accurate implementation.Executive Recruitment: Oversee the administration of Senior Executive Service, Equivalent Specialist, and Statutory Officers' recruitment and contract delivery.Responsibilities:This role emphasises leadership, efficiency and the pursuit of continual improvement in a client centric environment. You are entrusted with:Team Management: Oversee team work and outcomes, manage resources, and provide leadership within Human Resources Operations.Leadership: Act as a senior HR team member, guiding policy and strategy development, and participating in branch management.Work Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with WHS requirements, maintaining a safe work environment.People Management: Lead with values-based leadership, support team development, encourage diversity and inclusion, and ensure a safe, harassment-free workplace.Resource Management: Comply with budget and financial requirements, support IT use, manage information appropriately, and ensure ethical procurement.Outcome Management: Apply risk management, conduct strategic planning, use project management frameworks, and deliver client-centric services.Self-Management: Model organisational values, commit to personal growth, manage workload effectively, and demonstrate emotional intelligence.Tertiary qualifications: in Human Resources or a related discipline.Pre-employment Checks:The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.The following checks are to be conducted:Arson and fire settingViolent crimes and crimes against the personSex-related offencesDrug and alcohol related offencesCrimes involving dishonestyCrimes involving deceptionMaking false declarationsMalicious damage and destruction to propertySerious traffic offencesCrimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and JusticeCrimes against Executive or the Legislative PowerCrimes involving Conspiracy2.
