This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing, with the employment type to be determined in negotiation with the preferred candidate and the NIAA delegate. Where a non-ongoing specified term is offered, this would be for an initial period of up to 12 months, with possibility of extension up to a maximum period of two years. A non-ongoing offer may result in conversion to an ongoing offer of employment, however this must occur within 18 months from the opening date of this advertisement.

The Opportunity
The Grant Services Branch provides strategic leadership on grants policies, frameworks and strategies that support the effective delivery of grants within NIAA. Guided by Galambany, NIAA's transformation program, we ensure the delivery of grants funded under the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) are underpinned by the relevant policies, frameworks and strategies and ensure effective program and grant delivery consistent with the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Principles as well as NIAA's vision and purpose.
We also develop and manage Indigenous funding policies, the grant assessment policy, grants risk management policy as well as provide support and advice through a Front Door function. We are looking to fill multiple Assistant Director roles across our four sections:
Grants Front Door: Grants Front Door is the primary point of contact for all NIAA staff seeking grants administration or management advice and assistance through a Help Desk and a Relationship Manager team. The EL1 Relationship Manager provides direct support to internal stakeholders for complex, urgent and end-to-end grant processes.Grant Design: The Grant Design team ensures IAS grants comply with statutory requirements, regulatory frameworks and NIAA policy through supporting internal stakeholders to develop fit-for-purpose Grant Opportunity Guidelines and assisting with internal advice on grants related frameworks.Assessment Coordination and Briefing Support: The Assessment Coordination and Briefing Support team oversees the grant application and funding process for NIAA including managing and coordinating the processing and assessment of applications for all IAS grant funding activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.Grant Guidance: The Grant Guidance team provides strategic advice and specialist expertise across a broad range of grant management activities, including performance and financial reports; advice on the management of grant agreements with varying levels of complexity; and risk management principles regarding grants administration.Our Ideal Candidate
