THE ROLE:
We are looking for a qualified, experienced and highly motivated security professional to provide management and leadership within Austrade's Security and Business Continuity section.
Our ideal candidate will be comfortable operating with autonomy, have demonstrable experience managing resources related to the Australian Government's protective security priorities, and have a strong record of delivering key enabling protective security functions across a geographically dispersed network.
Our successful candidate will possess an advanced knowledge of Australian Government security policies and practices, security risk management, and an understanding of contemporary personnel, physical and information security issues, sound judgment and a proven track record in conducting investigations. A strong knowledge of security practices along with an ability to develop and maintain significant customer and stakeholder relationships, including liaison with internal and external clients will be an advantage in responding to the requirements of this role.
The position is an office-based role in Canberra and is required to be in the office each day, with the ability to occasionally work remotely. The role will also involve travel to a range of domestic and overseas locations.
Working closely with the Director, Security and Business Continuity, the Assistant Director, Global Security Operations will lead a small team of security professionals working to assure the security framework is embedded within all elements of Austrade.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Monitor the effectiveness and compliance of Austrade's security management framework and notify senior management of issues as they arise.
Manage the development and implementation of the Austrade security plan, security policy and related procedures.
Lead on security projects.
Manage reported security incidents and/or breaches from notification through to resolution and finalising records, including post-incident reporting / investigation as appropriate.
Oversight delivery of Austrade's security-related training and awareness programs.
Develop specialised advice, and maintain liaison, on the following:
Threat and risk assessment of Austrade locations and events, including liaison with other agencies as relevant.
Information and intelligence-sharing, including liaison with other agencies as appropriate.
Physical security standards, options, and support, including liaison with other agencies as relevant.
Develop productive working relationships with Austrade offices in Australia and overseas, other Austrade business units, and other Government departments.
Act as the Director, Security and Business Continuity, when required.
