The opportunity ASIO is seeking a senior executive leader with relevant experience to lead Program Delivery and Procurement, at the Senior Executive Service Band 1 level.
As part of the Senior Leadership team, you will work closely with the Executive, SES colleagues, external partners and stakeholders to lead delivery of ASIO's enterprise capability uplift and embed contemporary project, program and portfolio management methodologies and governance approaches for the organisation.
The role not only provides oversight of major programs but also ensures ASIO is able to partner effectively with industry through streamlined procurement and a fit-for-purpose contract management capability.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position.
This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities This role is the program director for ASIO's major capability uplift, overseeing and ensuring accountability for significant projects and subprograms.
The role also includes leadership over ASIO's procurement capability, including accountabilities for the successful delivery of ASIO Strategic Industry Partnership program.
As Assistant Director-General, Program Delivery and Procurement, you will:
Provide strategic leadership that inspires a culture of innovation and commitment to deliver results.Oversee portfolio governance to programs and projects across the Organisation, with an initial focus on risk and benefit realisation, and management of inter-dependencies.Deliver timely, strategic advice to ASIO's capability executive subcommittee to enable oversight of programs and informed decisions to create, sustain and retire capability.Deliver education supporting uniform project, program and portfolio management methodology as the organisational standard.Coordinate capability reviews and undertake future investment planning to ensure alignment with the Organisation's agreed strategic priorities, corporate planning and budget processes.Deliver timely, strategic advice supporting procurement, contract management, and strategic partnering with industry.Deliver an uplift in contract management and administration.What you will bring We invite applications from candidates with the following attributes:

Location These positions are located in Canberra and applicants must be willing to relocate.

Employment conditions Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979.
Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service.
We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes.
Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
