Details: WorkSafe ACT is a fully independent office headed by the Work Health and Safety Commissioner. WorkSafe ACT achieves its objectives through a combination of compliance and enforcement, awareness raising, education, inspection, and investigation.
WorkSafe ACT has an exciting permanent vacancy for a motivated and diligent professional to fill the role of Assistant Director within our Investigations team. The Investigations team is primarily responsible for conducting and managing workplace investigations and providing compliance and enforcement services that contribute to the reduction of harm and improved support for injured or ill workers in ACT workplaces.
The Assistant Director will contribute to the leadership and mentorship of a high-performance team to deliver and continuously improve high-quality investigations. You will also be responsible for the most complex investigations. The successful candidate will identify areas of improvement and contribute to internal projects for continuous team and organisational development.

Eligibility / Other Requirements:
Diploma of Government (Investigations) or equivalent or ability to complete within 12 months of commencement.
Willingness to:
participate in an afterhours on-call and telephone roster when required
participate in programmed after hours compliance activities when required, and
undergo a pre-employment police check.
Notes: A merit pool will be established to fill identical vacancies at level over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on written application only. This position is in a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
