Assistant Director - Financial Reporting

Our client plays a pivotal role in implementing and managing a main scheme, which provides individualised support and services to enhance the quality of life for participants and their families.


Duties:
Overseeing parts of the Financial Reporting team, including month-end tasks, reporting, analysis, risk management, and balance sheet reconciliations.Managing and improving the month-end process to ensure it is efficient, accurate, and timely.Coordinating the monthly General Ledger close and related reporting, along with maintaining the centralised General Ledger Journal posting register.Preparing notes and schedules for the departments financial statements and working with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on audit matters.Managing relationships with internal and external auditors, business partners, and other key stakeholders.Handling the department's fixed assets register, including coordinating accounting processes with Corporate Shared Services and internal resources.Ensuring compliance and overseeing financial assessments for the department's property lease contracts, including recording all financial entries in the lease accounting register. About you:
CA / CPA Qualified is mandatory.Experience delivering complex financial and governance outcomes.Proven ability to manage a team and oversee direct reports.Can do person with a good attention to detail.Capable in managing internal and external stakeholders and negotiating with them effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
