Assistant Director Field Services Platform
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency Details: As a senior leader within TCCS, this role requires a person who can inspire, energise and positively influence team and individual outcomes. The role is responsible for supervising, managing and motivating a team and providing appropriate support and guidance. Effective employee engagement skills are a key enabler in the performance of this role as is a values-based leadership style.
The Assistant Director/s Platform cover Governance, Maintenance and Support/Delivery assisting in the operations, maintenance, development, and support of the Field Service Platform (Salesforce). These roles work with diverse teams of technical professionals (testers, developers, technical architects, tech leads, DevOps/release managers, administrators, service designers, business analysts, experience designers and others involved in the delivery of apps and related products and services) to achieve organisational outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage, maintain, and monitor the Field Service Platform utilising a team of System Administrators, Testers, Release Managers, Developers, vendors and other technical specialists.
Work with the Solution Architects and Business Architects on the platform, to progress activities relating to the ICT roadmap, including Salesforce and MuleSoft integration components on the platform.
Manage third-party support contracts, platform licenses, maintenance, backups, account administration and upgrade activities of the platform in addition to progressing platform technical debt.
Support the delivery of smaller ICT Projects building on the platform, as well as ensuring the platform aligns with the TCCS ICT Strategy and ACT Digital Strategy.
Manage technical resources to progress Salesforce BAU tickets to tune and troubleshoot applications, and support training as required.
Supply and tailor reporting and metrics to committees and in response to ministerial and other requests.
Ensure configuration and management documentation occurs on the platform, including Business Continuity Plans. Present regular reports to the senior leadership team in key platform maintenance activities, including potential future solution options.
Provide leadership in planning and managing IT product and service development.
Identify and implement good practice for optimising infrastructure and operational costs, improving system performance and ensuring service-level requirements are achieved.
Manage the relationships between TCCS and other Directorates including Goods and Services Procurement ICT, Office of the CDO, Digital Data and Technology Solutions (DDTS) and Access Canberra.

Eligibility / Other Requirements:
Salesforce certifications are highly desirable, in addition to delivering projects in a Salesforce or similar environment.
A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Software Engineering, or related discipline, as well as greater than ten years' experience managing platforms and/or IT operations is highly desirable.
Baseline security clearance.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately from 01 October 2024 until 30 September 2025 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.
