The NIAA has an exciting and unique opportunity for an EL1, Assistant Director in Rockhampton.
This role will work in close partnership with First Nations people and communities throughout Central Queensland to positively influence improved Closing the Gap outcomes.
This job will lead and shape relationships with key partners in Indigenous communities, the Commonwealth, State Governments, and private enterprise to deliver Government priorities aligned to community aspirations.
This role will have a sharp focus on supporting the economic empowerment of First Nations communities through programs and initiatives across south Queensland.
As Assistant Director Engagement, you will be part of a sub-regional team reporting directly to the Director Engagement providing support, leadership, and advice.
Assistant Engagement Directors are responsible for:
Working with Engagement Officers to achieve the objectives identified aboveDriving the implementation of place-based solutions, through close engagement with key partners, stakeholders, and internal colleaguesDeveloping effective strategic partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders including First Nations peoples, community partners, business, and organisationsManaging stakeholder expectations of the NIAA work program, priorities, and program change, considering local and cultural sensitivities and stakeholder business imperativesLeading and supporting employee performance and contribution to regional resultsProviding strategic advice and specialist expertise across a broad range of activities including economic empowerment, community engagement, service delivery, policy development, and culture.All NIAA staff promote a healthy and safe workplace environment and model ethical behaviour in accordance with the APS Code of Conduct and APS Values.
