What you will do as the Assistant Director, Employee Relations, WHS and Policy You will work across the agency, providing expert advice to senior leaders on a wide range of complex people matters. You will work closely with the Director and the ACCC legal team to ensure managers are provided with sound, practical, commercial and legally defensible recommendations and that formal ER/IR processes are managed appropriately. Common duties include; •    Managing formal ER/IR procedures such as underperformance, preliminary assessments, and code of conduct investigations. •    Engaging with stakeholders and manage complex projects or problems with organisational wide implications. •    Designing and implementing policy and process improvements. •    Providing expert advice on and ensure compliance with legislation. In order to succeed in the role, you will have: 1.    Technical knowledge: •    Demonstrated expert understanding and application of HR frameworks (Acts, strategies, policies, guidance, systems and practices). •    Experience in managing complex employment matters. •    Experience in employee welfare, return to work and performance related case management and ER/IR experience. •    Demonstrated knowledge of and application of contemporary HR policy development. •    Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and collaborate effectively with a variety of stakeholders to facilitate positive outcomes. 2.    A demonstrated ability to effectively: •    support the Director in leading the team by role modelling positive behaviours, supporting a professional and harmonious working environment, coaching, continuous feedback, resolving conflict and facilitating career development. •    engage with stakeholders and managing complex projects or problems with organisation wide implications and supporting large scale change initiatives. •    deal with ambiguity and work under pressure with competing priorities. •    proven emotional intelligence, influencing and effective communication skills. Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, AHRI accreditation and/or equivalent relevant experience. To find out more about us and the role, please read the Candidate Kit.
