Under the direction of the Director, the Assistant Director will assist with the day-to-day delivery of employee and employment relations advice for CSD staff, managers, and executives. As a trusted advisor representing the People, Capability and Culture Branch, the Assistant Director will take a solution's focused approach. Have any questions…Aim of the Role:The aim of this role is to contribute to the overall success of the business by ensuring that mechanical repairs and services are carried out to an exacting and consistently high standard.Scope of the Role:The role of Motor Mechanic specialises primarily in Hyundai and MG vehicles but is not limited to working on this brand only. The role is responsible for the full breadth of maintenance, testing and repairs of engines and all other mechanical parts of each customer's passenger and light commercial motor vehicles.Main DutiesThe main duties of this role include:• Conduct vehicle inspections as required• Utilise a variety of standard techniques, and materials such as manuals and/ or computerised equipment to accurately diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in cars• The disassembly and removal of mechanical components including (but not limited to) transmissions, engine assemblies and steering mechanisms and completing a thorough inspection of the components• Completing required repair work to engines and mechanical components or where necessary undertaking the replacement of parts• Report any anomalies during servicing and repair work.• Reassembly of mechanical components post repair and conducting relevant tests to ensure everything is fully operational making any necessary adjustments and re-testing if required• Performance of regular vehicle maintenance services including the replacement of vehicle fluids such as oil, engine tune-ups or lubricants ensuring the vehicles run effectively and are compliant with current pollution regulations.• Manage all set tasks and complete them within given time frames, in a safe and efficient manner. Inform management of any potential issues or delays in timely manner.• Communicate clearly with team members, suppliers and customers, upholding company standards of customer excellence at all times.• Always uphold the reputation of the business, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and the utmost care is taken when working on vehicles.Hours of work:This is a full-time role where the incumbent will be expected to work at least 38 hours per week. The shifts required to be worked may vary from time to time.Qualifications, education, experience and abilities required.This role requires an AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3). At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.Experience/ KnowledgeA minimum of 3 years' relevant motor mechanic experience carried out in a commercial setting achieved post qualification, is required for this role. Highly desirable but not essential is knowledge and experience with Hyundai and MG cars.Abilities/Attributes• Demonstrated light vehicle repair, service and maintenance skills including a solid understanding of petrol engines, suspension, transmission, steering and brake systems• Ability to read and interpret a broad range of vehicle service manuals• Ability to use computers for the purpose of diagnosing faults and testing vehicle parts• Ability to work effectively under pressure• Ability to prioritise workload to ensure customer and management deadlines met• Excellent customer service skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical mechanical issues to a broad audienceSalary: $65,000 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuationLocation: Berwick, VIC 3806Inspec Industries have extensive experience in the light vehicle and diesel heavy equipment field covering all aspects of the mining and earthmoving industries, Inspec have developed their business with the major focus being on high quality workmanship and customer service.
