About the Role:
In your role as Assistant Director, you will work alongside the Centre Director to ensure efficient daily operations, uphold compliance standards, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment for families and staff. As Educational Leader, you will guide and mentor educators in delivering engaging, child-centred programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), fostering a love of learning in every child.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant Director
Support the Centre Director in the day-to-day management and overall leadership of the centre
Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, and training to build a positive, collaborative team culture
Ensure regulatory compliance with childcare policies, procedures, and safety requirements
Manage rosters, enrolments, and parent communications, building strong relationships with families
Take a lead role in managing centre operations, including budgets, resources, and staff performance
Step into the Centre Director's role in their absence, maintaining consistent and effective leadership
Educational Leader
Lead the development and implementation of educational programs that reflect the EYLF and children's individual needs
Mentor educators in reflective practice, curriculum planning, and documentation
Foster a learning environment that is engaging, stimulating, and inclusive for all children
Promote best practices in early childhood education, encouraging continuous professional growth among the team
Collaborate with families to understand and support each child's development
Drive initiatives that enhance the centre's educational approach, incorporating innovative ideas and strategies
Stay up-to-date with current early childhood research and trends to keep the educational program at the forefront of excellence
What we're looking for:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
Proven experience in a leadership role within a childcare or early learning setting
Strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Standards (NQS), and compliance requirements
Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities with a focus on building strong teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with staff, families, and children
A proactive, positive attitude with a passion for delivering high-quality educational outcomes
