Assistant Director, Disruption Management and CoordinationThe position of Assistant Director, Disruption Management and Coordination is responsible for coordinating the development and delivery of interventions under the Disruption Management Strategy, including the coordination and governance functions for all construction, and special event Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) activities within the City Disruption Zone. This work involves working with project teams and stakeholders to identify any spatial and temporal conflicts between existing and upcoming TTMs and to achieve optimal outcomes for maintaining network operations during peak construction periods.This position is responsible for leading a governance framework on planned construction activities of major projects, including a coordination forum to map out planned projects, identify their construction impacts and resolve conflicts across projects. The governance activities also include developing technical guidance, process, procedure, and policy documentation related to planning, design and implementation of TTMPs.The position coordinates whole of directorate advice and input on planning, construction activities and disruption impacts and mitigation measures. This position also involves relationship management and attendance and participation in the various Disruption Taskforce working groups and project governance groups.The Assistant Director, Disruption Management and Coordination will:Oversee the development and delivery of intervention projects under the Disruption Management Strategy, including the enhanced governance and coordination of TTMPs associated with construction activities and events in and around the City Centre.Lead a governance framework on planned construction activities of major projects including coordination working groups to coordinate across projects and their planned construction impacts.Identify transport related construction impacts and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve conflicts across projects within the City Centre.Coordinate whole of directorate advice and input on planning, construction activities and disruption impacts and mitigation measures.Oversee the development and delivery of processes, systems and tools to support the delivery of the Disruption Management Strategy. This includes developing and maintaining interactive mapping / dashboards of planned major infrastructure projects and their construction impacts (e.g. active TTMPs and parking impacts).Provide advice and assist with developing directorate, ministerial and Cabinet briefings and submissions, replies to Parliamentary Questions and correspondence on any disruption arising from construction works and measures intended to minimise the disruption.Represent the Directorate in communications, consultations and liaison with other ACT Directorates, government agencies, forums, community groups and the general public.Other coordination tasks as required relating to disruption coordination.Develop / coordinate papers for Senior Executive Committees and working groups including project board meetings and internal governance committees.Manage secretariat functions for internal committees, including the liaison and communications with stakeholders and the timely following up and reporting on actions arising.This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.Eligibility/Other Requirements:Tertiary qualifications in engineering and/or relevant infrastructure disciplines is highly desirable.Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite programs is highly desirable.Proficient using geospatial mapping tools desirable.Driver's licence (Class C) is essential.Asbestos awareness card or a willingness to obtain - Asbestos Awareness Training and evidence of completion delivered by a Registered Training Organisation is required before commencement, for further information refer to: Asbestos Awareness Training - WorkSafe ACT.To be eligible for permanent employment within the ACT Public Service you must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident.This position does not require a pre-employment medical.This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.Visa holders are eligible to apply for both permanent and temporary roles.
