Are you a high performing, motivated and experienced professional with experience in the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and security of databases? Are you looking for a role that will allow you to expand into other related disciplines?
The Mental Health and Wellbeing Branch in the People Services and Wellbeing Division, Defence People Group, is responsible for the development of strategy, policies and programs to improve mental health and wellbeing.
As an Assistant Director, you will be part of a dynamic team of subject matter experts within the newly established Evaluation, Data Analytics and Assurance team, responsible for measuring and reporting on change to Defence population mental health and wellbeing.
You will have responsibility for the Defence Suicide Database and other related databases within the Branch, as well as managing data sharing arrangements with internal and external stakeholders.

Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems, possess excellent problem-solving skills, and have experience in data warehousing and analytics. The role requires high-level organisation skills, critical thinking, accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to ensure high quality outcomes for the Branch. You will identify strategies and efficiencies for maintaining existing services, business applications, and platforms to maximise availability, reliability and service continuity.
As an EL1 ICT Database Administrator, we will require the following from you:
Experience in database design and implementation, including collaboration with stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements. Knowledge of and experience utilising relevant tools e.g. SQL and Python. Knowledge of and experience in database modelling or data warehousing. Understanding of database maintenance, administration, security and governance. Database Monitoring, Optimisation, Documentation and Reporting. Application Closing Date: Thursday 7 November 2024
