Services Australia (the agency) Fraud Control and Investigations Division assist the agency to manage serious internal and external threats, risks and acts against the institution, its programs, and its customers.
The Intelligence Branch uses proactive intelligence strategies and sophisticated analysis techniques to produce high-quality intelligence advice to prevent, detect and disrupt fraud.
The branch contributes to a whole of government response to fraud by sharing intelligence and insights across the agency and with external partners.
Our intelligence activities are underpinned by a strong fraud data environment and management function.
We have an advanced, mature data analytics capability that enables our operational work, including a range of systems and tools that support our intelligence analysis and fraud response activities.
We deliver in-house capability and products, tools, automation and manage technology projects.
The fraud business data, developer and business analysts have specialised skillsets, combining data and analytical expertise, with knowledge and understanding of fraud risks and methodologies, and knowledge of agency payments and programs.
Job Description
EL1 Assistant Director Technical Manager works autonomously under the broad direction of senior staff and is responsible for the delivery of a specialised toolset that includes web-based and stand-alone applications, process automation, and innovative products that support fraud intelligence and investigation activities.
This is a technical team management role, with a high level of responsibility to maintain current landscape of tools while leading changes and improvements collaboratively across the team and wider agency.
EL1 Assistant Director Fraud Data Analyst works autonomously under the broad direction of senior staff.
They exercise both initiative and judgement in the delivery of a programme of work including fraud analytics data products, systems and processes.
Subject Matter Expertise and decision-making is dependent on judgement, skills and knowledge.
Assistant Director Fraud Data Analysts manage a team, organise their work in the context of competing priorities, including contributing to advancing fraud detection through data analytics, business planning, changes in workplace practices and business improvement strategies.
EL1 Assistant Director Business Analyst Manager are responsible for the delivery of business projects and managing strategic programs of work with the Director.
They exercise both initiative and judgement in collection, interpretation and examination of information or data, and contributing to the work areas reports, findings, decision making or recommendations using an evidence approach to assist in finding solutions to complex matters.
This is a team leader role, leaders lead their teams to provide business subject matter expertise including requirement definition, provision of project lifecycle documents, and management of multiple streams of work.
