ABOUT THE SECTION
The Cyber Security team is responsible for multiple aspects of cyber security within Finance including governance, risk, compliance (GRC) functions, assessment, advice and assurance functions, and operational functions such as endpoint monitoring, incident detection and response, and breach remediation tasks.
Chief among our key deliverables is the monitoring and maintenance of Finance's cyber security posture in accordance with best practice and applicable regulatory frameworks. To achieve this we work closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders including engineering teams, architecture, service providers, project teams and other government entities.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Assistant Director, Cyber Security is responsible for supporting the Director, Cyber Security in the effective management and monitoring of the Department's cyber controls and risk. Core responsibilities include:
Management of outcomes associated with a core function of the team, with a focus on either GRC, assessment, advice and assurance, or operations.
Preparation and delivery of sound evidence-based advice specific to the core function the role holds responsibility for.
Leadership of a small team of cyber analysts, including coordination and review of deliverables, reporting, and other supervisory duties.
Coordination of complex tasks associated with achieving cyber outcomes across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.

Public Service Act 1999 , employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the Agency Head has agreed otherwise, in writing.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
