About the Role As the EL1 Assistant Director of Change Management, you'll lead complex, high-stakes initiatives that ensure smooth transitions across various organisational programs, especially within the CDoF framework.
You'll work with a considerable degree of independence, making sound decisions that guide impactful policy advice and operational support.
This role is crucial for driving strategic, inclusive change strategies and helping leaders guide their teams effectively through organisational transitions.
Leadership in Change Management: Lead a small, specialist team to design and implement innovative change strategies, communication, and content that support the organisation's objectives and the CDoF Program's goals.
Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, leaders, and external providers, ensuring alignment and strong communication.
Timely and Budget-Conscious Execution: Oversee change management outcomes, ensuring they meet both deadlines and budget while aligning with organisational goals.
Impact Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct detailed change impact assessments, develop proactive strategies to reduce resistance to change, and address any areas of overlap or gaps.
Support for Business Communication: Ensure effective communication strategies are in place so that leaders can act as change champions, equipping them to communicate with participants, staff, and partners.
Risk Management: Identify and escalate potential risks related to communications, media, and marketing activities, assisting in risk mitigation to safeguard the organisation's reputation.
About you To thrive in this role, you need: Experience leading a team to design and implement strategic change management plans aligned with organisational and CDoF deliverables.
Proven ability to establish strong relationships across diverse stakeholders, both within and outside the organisation.
Experience in executing change management initiatives on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organisational objectives.
Skilled in conducting comprehensive impact assessments and in implementing proactive strategies to reduce resistance to change.
An understanding of the CDoF program's impact on various stakeholders, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities and strategic adjustments.
At least 3 years of experience as a Change Manager or Business Analyst.
Relevant certification in Change Management (e.g., CMI, Prosci, Agile Change).
Experience in leading and executing policy change initiatives is highly valued.
Be able to pass and hold a national police check and worker screening check.
Must be an Australian Citizen.
