The Quality Assessment and Monitoring Group (QAMG) is responsible for quality assessment and monitoring of provider's performance against the Aged Care Quality Standards and other provider obligations including Quality of Care Principles, accreditation and reaccreditation audits of residential aged care services and quality audits of home services.

The Quality Assurance and Capability (QAC) team is led by a Director with team functions including leading quality assurance activities within the group, workforce capability initiatives including registration and complaints, and data systems and reporting.
The key duties of the position include:Develop and/or coordinate delivery of an annual capability workplan covering continuous professional development, master classes, cyclic training programs (Assistant Director Training Program, Assessing Clinical Standards training, various communities of practice and more) and continuous improvement initiatives identified through quality assurance activities.Collaborate with the Commission's People and Culture team to support the delivery of the cyclic Quality Assessor Training Program and supporting initiatives including coaching and competency-based training tools.Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and within the group to support the delivery of capability uplift initiatives associated with aged care reforms including the New Aged Care Act.Coordinate the implementation of the Commission's Quality Assessor Retention Strategy and associated action plan including through coordination with other areas within the Commission.Ensure that evaluation and feedback is applied to continually refine training products.Respond flexibly to quality assurance activities and endorsed recommendations requiring enhancements to planned capability program.Manage a small team of direct reports.Other duties as required.Strategic thinking and analysis to align planned activities with Commission priorities including capability uplift associated with introduction of new aged care legislation.Well-developed public speaking and presentation skills across a range of mediums catering to a range of communication and education preferences including sensitivity to cultural safety.Familiarity with various project management tools and experience in project management.Effective communication and negotiation skills to deliver mutual goals and objectives with various internal staff.An ability to deliver commitments and focus on collaboration to achieve goals in a timely manner.Understand and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, particularly the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Act (2018) and the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission Rules (2018) and the Aged Care Quality Standards or demonstrate the ability to rapidly acquire this knowledge.NotesOnly candidates who hold Australian citizenship can apply.
