Assistant Director, Budgets and Management Accounting Deakin ACT The Assistant Director, Budgets and Management Accounting reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and is responsible for undertaking complex accounting work that delivers quality outcomes for the Mint. This includes preparing the Mint's internal budgets and data for external budgets, and using a variety of software systems, such as Epicor, to support the strategic and operational function of financial management systems and processes. The Assistant Director, Budgets and Management Accounting resolves issues and risks as they arise. They oversee inventory costing and fixed asset management, and Financial Management Information System (FMIS) controls related to the Mint's production environment. The key duties of the position include: Preparing and monitoring the Mint's internal budget. Preparing external budgets, including providing data for Portfolio Budget Statements (PBS) and the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) and updating the Central Budget Management System (CBMS). Overseeing inventory cost accounting and fixed asset management. Calculating and reviewing the Transfer Price Model and proposed costing for products. Providing advice to the CFO and internal stakeholders regarding strategic financial management, and developing relevant accounting policies and procedures. Developing and coordinating work programs. Contributing to the monthly and annual financial statements. Developing and maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships with Senior Managers, other branches and external stakeholders. QualificationA tertiary qualification in accounting or similar, and membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) or another equivalent professional finance body.
