Assistant Deputy Principal - Full-time, Ongoing
We are seeking a highly pastoral Assistant Deputy Principal to oversee a cohort of approx. 250 students. This is a full-time, ongoing position, commencing 1 January 2025.
Reporting to the Vice Principal, the role of an Assistant Deputy Principal (ADP) is to actively be involved in the pastoral care and wellbeing of students, overseeing their academic, moral and spiritual development. The ADP will support each student to develop a sense of self-worth, providing opportunities for them to develop holistically.

Your responsibilities include:
• Management and leadership of a year level.
• Overseeing the successful implementation of the Pastoral Care and Well Being Framework.
• Ensuring that students receive appropriate Pastoral Care in the context of their pastoral care groups.
• Support the College's vision for learning and its Teaching and Learning framework.
• Supporting and leading continuous school improvement.
• Support and build a culture of service.
• Engage and work constructively with all members of the College Community.
Selection Criteria Pastoral Care:
• The ability to positively interact and engage using excellent counselling and pastoral care skills.
• The ability to model the College motto of 'Always Striving Upwards' by promoting a culture of continuous growth amongst students.
Relationship building:
• The ability to develop meaningful and authentic relationships with students, parents and College employees.
• The ability to display integrity in all interactions. Builds rapport with all members of the school community.
Communication:
• The ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, particularly parents, using a variety of mediums.
Strategic Thinking:
• The ability to demonstrate advanced negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to demonstrate advanced judgement and decisiveness; balance analysis, wisdom, experience, and perspective when making decisions.
Desirable:
• Masters in educational leadership/management
• Working towards further educational studies
• A strong understanding of the Sacred Heart College charism associated with the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and the Catholic Ethos of the College.
Qualifications Required • Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
• Accreditation to Lead (or working towards).
