Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices, along with experience in meal preparation and kitchen operations within a care home setting.
As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our standards for taste and presentation, while ensuring a clean and organised kitchen environment.
Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and menu specifications.Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.Assist in the planning of menus, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and client preferences.Maintain an organised kitchen workspace, ensuring all utensils, equipment, and ingredients are readily available.Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, informing management when reordering is necessary.Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service during peak hours.Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.Requirements Proven experience as a Cook in a care home or similar setting is preferred.Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends as required.A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight residents.Schedule: 4 DAYS A WEEK, 6AM TO 4PM
Pay: 13.00 per hour
