We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Construction Manager to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. As a key member of the management group, you will play a vital role in overseeing the successful delivery of a range of residential projects. We have been the region's largest residential builder and continue to see substantial growth, and as a result, we have an exciting opportunity for an industry professional to bring their knowledge as well as further advance their career prospects.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the Construction Manager in planning all aspects of construction projectsMonitor and report on project progress, budget, resource allocation and contractual requirements including job tracking, EOT's and commencementsLiaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure costings are accurate and up-to-dateBring new subcontractors on-board while vetting them for suitabilityNurture and maintain subcontractor and supplier relationshipsIdentify and mitigate potential risks and issues, and implement appropriate solutionsProvide support and guidance to the construction team, including supervising and mentoring junior staffContribute to the continuous improvement of construction processes and procedures internallySchedule internal workloads for estimators and draftspeopleEnsure all construction drawings comply with NCC and QDC guidelinesProvide hands-on input on costs, design and buildabilityWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar management roleStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principlesExcellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skillsProven ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentProficient in the use of construction software and technologyCert IV in Building and ConstructionKnowledge of construction regulations and safety standards in QueenslandWhat We OfferWe are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive work environment that enables our employees to thrive.
