More Information Assistant Swim Coach Part-time casual (multiple positions, immediate start) The Tuggeranong Vikings Swim Club (TVSC) is a community-based swim club training at the Lakeside Leisure Centre in Tuggeranong in the ACT. It offers training for swimmers of all levels from development through to NSW Country, State and National levels of competition. We are an established club undertaking an exciting pivot towards high performance under the leadership of a new Head Coach. As an Assistant Coach, you will join a team of highly qualified professionals implementing programs aimed at the long-term growth of our athletes. We are deploying the latest in scientific research guided by our Ph.D.-qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach. Our Club also offers a SwimFit program as part of our Club's mission to promote and support swimming within our community. We are seeking energetic coaches to work with us on a part-time casual basis. We value teamwork and collaboration, and a focus on the needs of our athletes. We also value coaches who understand the competitive mindset and are skilled at inspiring our athletes to bring their best. Key Responsibilities • Under the direction of the head coach, support the planning and conduct of training sessions that are aligned with the season plan and individual athlete needs. • Monitor and assess athlete performance, providing feedback and making adjustments to training plans as necessary. • Use video analysis and other tools to assess and improve athlete technique. • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages swimmers to achieve their full potential. • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to enhance the club's overall performance. • Ensure all club activities comply with relevant health and safety, child protection, and other regulations. • Travel to support swimmers at ACT and interstate competitions as required. Qualifications & Experience • Current Swimming Australia 'Development Coach' accreditation or higher. • Strong understanding of the technical and tactical aspects of competitive swimming. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • A commitment to supporting the head coach's vision and the club's inclusive and collaborative approach to coaching. Other Requirements • Applicants must declare that they have not had an adverse finding made against them as a result of investigations by Sports Integrity Australia or other competent sporting authorities. • Hold or obtain immediately a Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
