Provide high quality support to the Budgets function with a key focus on compiling and maintaining data to facilitate the distribution of the agency's ICT charges. Maintain the agency's chart of accounts and provide quality financial support and advice in a timely manner covering all financial activities to internal stakeholders.Context Statement:
The Finance Branch comprises two sections: Budget Management and Accounting and Taxation. It provides client support services to the agency in the areas of budget management, financial management and reporting, tax management, and travel.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Support the Assistant Director Budgets, Senior Business Managers, and Business Manager in the delivery of quality budget services and initiatives that contribute to organisational objectives.Review all payments made for ICT charges for accuracy and journal costs to correct cost centres, investigate and resolve any discrepancies or queries.Review and update the Chart of Accounts for accuracy and ensure the timely creation of new cost codes and closing down of unnecessary cost codes.Provide timely, quality support to the Senior Business Managers and Business Manager for all financial activities.Provide advice and training to business units as required to allow them to use financial data and analysis information effectively.Assist with the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes and correspondence on a range of financial management and budgeting issues.Liaise with relevant parties to ensure the Chart of Accounts accurately reflects the structure and needs of NTP.Selection Criteria:Essential:Demonstrated problem solving and organisational skills, including the effective management of multiple tasks to meet conflicting deadlines.Proven experience providing high quality, client-focused financial support services relevant to the primary objective and key duties of the role including ensuring governance and legislative/regulatory compliance and preparing financial reports using a range of contemporary finance/business systems.Sound communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.Well-developed skills using contemporary finance, IT, and office software and systems.Desirable:Certificate III or IV in a relevant discipline e.g., accounting, finance, or business.Experience working in a para-military organisation.Further Information:
