Primary objective:
The Activate Territory team within the Department of Tourism and Hospitality supports activation and promotion of Darwin and the regions including coordination of activation and liaison with exhibitors and performers.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Respond to enquiries and provide information in regard to activations, events and facilities. Assist with curation of events and activation, including Darwin city, suburbs and regions of the Northern Territory. Collection of event data for marketing campaigns. Develop and curate content for multiple social media platforms, including photography, social media posts and updating website. Develop event guides and programs of activities, including engagement with retailers and contractors. Assist with bump in and out of events including liaison with contractors. Assist with the preparation of marketing and promotional material for events. Assist with the opening and closing of events and basic day to day operational requirements. Provide administrative duties including finance, grant processing and travel, and other tasks as required. Selection criteria:
Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service, with well-developed communication skills. Strong local knowledge of Darwin and the revitalisation of the city. Demonstrated experience in the development and delivery of events. Demonstrated experience in using NT Government systems such as Electronic Invoicing Management System (EIMS), Electronic Card Management System (ECMS), Travel Request Information Processing System (TRIPS), and Grants NT, or the ability to quickly gain this. Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to follow directions from supervisors. Demonstrated computer, photography, graphic design and social media skills. Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures and ensure Work Health Safety system compliance.
