9 Month Contract PositionAs our highly valued Assistant Accountant based in Brisbane, your role will be to perform critical general ledger account reconciliations that impact multiple areas of a retail bank. This includes lending, deposits and payments. The Assistant Accountant role sits within the CFO Division - Finance Team. The Finance Team is responsible for delivering financial reporting, tax, operational accounting, treasury back office, treasury risk and regulatory reporting and systems accounting functions for the Great Southern Bank group.You'll make an impact by: Preparation of critical general ledger reconciliationsPerformance of key control functions in the finance processesPreparation of cash, bank and branch reconciliationsAssistance in performance end of month close activities (i.e. fee allocation journals, write-offs, etc)To succeed in this role, you will have:2 plus years' commercial accounting or financial services industry work experience is desirableStrong knowledge of accounting conceptsDemonstrated ability to produce accurate work, reliable results, meet tight deadlines, and plan and prioritise workflowWhy Great Southern Bank?Whatever your role with us, you'll be part of a force for good.
