Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this position supports the financial and management reporting processes across the system of schools and Catholic Education Office (CEO) providing accountability for informed strategic decision making.
Specific areas of focus include: Employing processes that aim to ensure CEDoW schools and CEO are managing their financial responsibilities and transactions in line with Diocesan Policy and Procedures.Supporting school and CEO staff providing assistance and direction with developing accurate annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, income/expense allocations.Provide education and training to School Budget Owners on the budgeting process, quarterly forecasts and income/expense allocations.Providing detailed variance analysis to budget and forecasts to improve financial performance.Assist with the end of month and end of year financial processes, including journals and timely reconciliation of balance sheet items.Assist with maintaining CEDoW's Lease Register in line with Accounting Standard AASB16.Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements to ensure compliance with CEDoW Policy and Procedures.Participate in project work and other tasks in collaboration with the finance team.ABOUT YOU To achieve success in the role, the successful candidate will be someone with:
A Commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.Knowledge of relevant tax laws, accounting principles and external compliance in matters relating to financial and management reporting.Demonstrated ability to support the budget and future year forecasts.Advanced problem solving, analytical skills and attention to detail.Exceptional stakeholder focus to build strong relationships with school staff, including excellent communication and interpersonal skills delivering outstanding support in a shared work environment.An ability to deliver staff training in both group and individual settings at school locations via Zoom or at the Catholic Education Office.Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritise and schedule work accordingly.QUALIFICATIONS Degree level qualification in Commerce or Business or working towards.Minimum of two (2) years' experience in finance/management accounting role.WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
