If you're ready to make a real impact, keep reading!What You Will Be Working OnAs an Assistant Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the City's financial stability and compliance.
Working closely with the Finance team, you'll support financial reporting, taxation, and audit processes to enhance governance and sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:Preparing, reviewing, and reconciling financial data to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards.Assisting in taxation processes, including BAS, FBT, and other statutory returns.Supporting the development and refinement of financial systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.Delivering exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.About YouWe're looking for a proactive professional with:A tertiary qualification (or working towards one) in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.Knowledge of financial legislation and standards, particularly as they relate to local government.Experience with taxation compliance, including GST and FBT.Excellent attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.The ability to deliver superior customer service and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.What it is Like Working HereWe are a values-led organisation guided by our belief that we:CareAre Better, TogetherLearn & GrowJoining our team means embracing a culture where we look after ourselves and each other.
