Your function As an Assistant Accountant you will be part of a team responsible for completing the monthly results of our four companies, including month end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and month end close documentation and processes.
You will assist with key functions of the Finance team, including supporting Account Payable tasks, assisting with the preparation of submissions to regulators, and play a part in regular controls testing.
This role has exposure to all areas of the Finance team and so flexibility and willingness to be adaptable to change is essential.
You will report to the Senior Financial Accountant.
Day to day As part of the reporting team you will have responsibility for some month end journal processing across all four ANZ companies, including fixed asset depreciation, accruals and prepayments and others.
You will be responsible for many balance sheet reconciliations.
Extract data and run reports from key systems.
Respond to information requests from the business.
Support in the timely completion of month end close (MEC) documentation.
Be able to investigate data and identify anomalies.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial records.
Become familiar with all accounts payable tasks and support Accounts Payable team member.
Sustain and enhance appropriate levels of internal controls in Finance department.
Involvement with controls testing under the global Risk Control Framework (RCF).
Work closely with other Finance team members and be flexible to step outside regular day to day responsibilities when required for special projects or in case of other team member absence.
Involvement in Finance initiatives to enhance efficiencies, improve processes, and various other tasks.
Your Profile Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Good analytical and problem solving skills 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance role.
Studying for CPA or equivalent desired Committed to meeting deadlines Engaged, enthusiastic and keen to develop skills to make a positive contribution to Finance team outputs Accuracy and attention to detail Flexible and able to manage competing priorities Good verbal and written skills Good to know The selection process may involve an assessment Applications via email will not be reviewed.
