Assistant Accountant

Johnston (DRJ), a division of JBS Australia, is Australia's leading domestic wholesale and trading Company providing an extensive range of fresh and frozen carton meats to the Australian market as well as Retail Outlets.An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant exists at our Sydney site.Skills & Experience:Coordination and review of site specific financial information to ensure compliance with Company reporting schedules and standards.Ensuring various company policies are adhered to (A/R, Banking).Experienced in Credit control functions following Group Credit policy and compliance requirements.Payment allocations.Reconciliation of accounts.Following up outstanding accounts.Organising payments for same day deliveries.Process credit card payments.Support and assist site-based administration/sales staff with day-to-day responsibilities, as required.Relevant tertiary study in Accounting/Commerce.Suitable for a recent Graduate.Excellent communication and team building skills.Strong eye for detail and ability to meet deadlines.Ability to start at 6 a.m. Monday to Friday.What we offer you:A strong multi-national company culture with clear and simple values that we live by every day.Mentoring and coaching from experienced and certified accountants.Discounts on meat, selected health insurance funds and vehicles.You will have a pro-active approach and well-developed problem-solving skills, coupled with your ability to build relationships across all levels of the business and possess the drive and initiative to ensure continuous improvement.
