Assistant Accountant

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial data, assisting with the half-yearly and annual audit process, monthly reporting requirements, and budgeting process. You will also be involved in developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and your excellent interpersonal skills will be essential for success in this role.
What you'll do: Manage Accounts receivable duties including daily processing funds received, raising SO, generation of invoicing, credit notes, debt collection, and statement dispatch.Handle Accounts payable function including data entry of AP and CC transactions, reconciliations, processing payments and confirming bank details for new account setup.Assist with Cash Flow Management – provide insights to ensure working capital is maintained.Assist in Human Resources – Drafting Contracts and maintenance of ISCompliant.Manage Payroll – Full management including data entry, variance analysis and related statutory obligations.Project Management – Set up new project in system and closures as required. Collaborate with Project Managers and compile periodic reports for presentation.Assist with Audit and Tax - Liaising with external consultants to ensure half year and year end tax effect accounting/audit is completed in a timely manner.Inventory Management – Collaborate with Operations Manager to manage Inventory balances.What you bring: Knowledge of accounting and process management experienceAdvanced Excel skills requiredProficiency in MYOB and other Microsoft Office software packagesEffective time management, record-keeping, and high attention to detailProven analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesExcellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work within a teamPrior involvement in cross-functional collaborationAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
