As a result, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to assist with and support project focused financial management activities.
Based in our West Perth office and offered on a full time basis, you'll work closely with our operational project delivery teams to support business and project cost control activities including reporting, cost performance and forecasting.
OUR ROLE Reporting to our Financial Controller, in this role you will: Monitor costs against control budgets and forecasts including the identification of variations or changes Review and adjust cost to date information for accuracy and correct cost coding Liaise with and escalate any identified project risk and/or opportunities Review of monthly budget versus actuals Process monthly journals relating to the allocation of labour, plant and equipment Produce month end reporting including the review and consolidation of projects data for month end contract reviews Oversee and manage the preparation and reconciliation of client timesheet exports for invoicing Support broader business improvement related activities related to our cost control processes ABOUT YOU Great people skills and the ability to build trust is a must, backed by strong communications skills.
You will also ideally have: A tertiary qualification in accounting, quantity surveying or equivalent with previous experience ideally from within the construction and/or resources sector Previous experience in a similar cost control role Strong understanding of the project and contract lifecycle Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve; Proven communicator who can lead and influence.
