As an Assistant Accountant, you'll be responsible for ensuring the completion of finance-related tasks within designated timeframes, maintaining accurate accounting and tax records for management and compliance purposes, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting initiatives.This role is being offered as a permanent full-time position, primarily based in our West Perth office and supporting the RAC Finance division.What will you be doing?Financial Operations: Ensuring completeness of subledger related tasks and an understanding of ledger impacts to assist with resolution of transactional matters.Daily/Monthly Reporting and Analysis: Aid in the preparation of comprehensive reports, including P&L support and bank analysis including daily cash position.Financial Coordination: Support month-end/half year/end accounting processes, statutory requirements including Internal/External Audits, allocated journals, and balance sheet reconciliations within Group deadlines. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.Compliance: Assisting and/or preparation of tax-related tasks, including FBT, ITR, BAS, and any other tax administration investigations/queries. Work with team members in relation to group analysis and investigations. Accounts Payable duties such as purchase order creation and maintenance and review of payments for disbursements of funds prior to authorisation daily.Process Improvement: Improving processes within scope of responsibility. Assistance with trustee reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis. Engage in various ad hoc duties and continuous improvement initiatives.Offers the opportunity to learn and assist across different business units in the Group.What are we looking for in you?Academic Credentials: Possess tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (minimum Bachelor's degree), with a preference for those working towards or holding a CPA/CA qualification.Experience Essentials: Demonstrate your proficiency in a similar role within large organizations, complemented by a robust understanding of finance system sub ledgers in ERP systems like Dynamics 365, Oracle, or similar platforms.Key Competencies: Showcase your adeptness in reconciliation, meticulous attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.Communication Skills: Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a knack for collaboration and adaptability in dynamic environments.Technical Skills: Proficient Excel user, including Power Query skills.
