About this opportunity:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance team as an Assistant Accountant.
In this role, you will learn about and be responsible for: Assisting in Management Accountant to mentor accounts officers and trainees.
Reconciling processed work by verifying and comparing SwiftPOS and Purchase Plus reports to Momentus entries.
Reconciliation of bank accounts, corporate credit cards via Concur.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliation for trade debtor, trade creditors, prepayment and clearing accounts etc.
Maintain all accounting sub-ledgers.
Assisting with month-end process and journal entries to ensure compliance with deadlines.
Providing timely and accurate payment and account standing information.
Report any workplace hazards to your Health and Safety Committee representative and take a consultative role to assist in achieving a healthy and safe working environment.
Manage the accounts receivable and payable functions, promoting a culture of inclusion, consistency and CSI to help meet the goals of ICC Sydney.
Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls.

Required Skills & Experience:

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an accounting or business discipline.
Qualified accountant (CPA or CA), or working towards CA/CPA qualification.
2 years recent experience in a similar accounting role, ideally in hospitality sector.
Must be experienced in and able to demonstrate proficiency with computerised finance software applications and Microsoft Excel.
High standard of documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work with minimal external assistance.
