The Role

The Assistant Accountant will be reporting to the Senior Accountant - Australia and will be responsible for assisting the finance team with month end reporting, general ledger transactions and reconciliations.
You will also ensure that the management reporting and the general ledger are accurate and delivered within the designated timeframe.
Key Accountabilities

Balance Sheet Maintain fixed asset registers Assist with maintaining Balance Sheet Reconciliations including but not exclusive to: Prepayments, Contractor accruals, Clearing accounts, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, Contract liabilities.

Month End Calculating for review and upon approval the processing of month end journals including items such as prepayments, accruals, payroll journals, etc.
Assist with month end checks to ensure that all P&L entries are accurate.

Surveys Quarterly Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys.

General Any other items requested by the Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, Group Finance Manager or other members of the Finance team.

About You

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
A Chartered Accountant, equivalent certification or with partial completion of the GradDipCA or equivalent program.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project finance, accounting, or a related field.
Proficient in financial software and MS Office applications, especially Excel.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
High level of attention to detail.
Willingness to fit into a team and help out as needed.
