Full Job Description Our client, a leading provider devoted to worker well-being, requires an Assistant Accountant for their Newcastle location.
Working in a small, dedicated team, the candidate will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll using Xero.
You will work closely with the CEO and be practical and hands-on in your approach.
Attention to detail and a can-do attitude are a must.

Permanent Part Time - 3 days per weekParking providedNewcastle location$85k salaryASAP startKey Responsibilities: Accounts Payable & Receivable:Process and manage invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner.Monitor outstanding paymentsFollow up on overdue invoices.Prepare and reconcile supplier and customer accounts.Payroll:Manage the payroll process, ensuring that managers approve timesheets and review after hours.Employee reimbursementsSalary sacrifice (in line with NFP guidelines)Onboarding of new employees into XeroAwareness of Fair Work practicesEAP Contracts:Ensure invoices are sent in a timely mannerBudgeting, Forecasting and ReportingAssist with annual budgets and regular forecastsGeneral Ledger Management:Reconcile general ledger accounts.Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.Compliance:BAS & IAS completion and submission by deadlinesEnsure compliance with tax regulations and internal policies.ACNC reportingQualifications: Education:Certificate in bookkeeping (preferred not essential)Xero training certification or proof of experienceA degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred not essential)Equivalent work experience.Experience:At least 2-3 years of experience in accounts/payrollProficiency with Xero and MS Excel.Understanding of NFP and Charitable Organisation reporting requirementsSkills:Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.Good understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Other Requirements:Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Current Police CheckIf you meet all the requirements then please click the "APPLY BUTTON".
